About the client

Established in 1861, the same year as the first Melbourne Cup, the Geraldton Turf Club is among the oldest race clubs in Western Australia and celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2012. The club is situated in an enviable location on coastline overlooking the ocean and typically holds 19 meetings each year from October to April, including the Geraldton Gold Cup and Batavia Sprint.

The Brief

The client brief was to build a technically modern and functional website with a fresh look and feel. We recommended a number of features, including the Events Calendar module that allows the club to update details quickly and easily to ensure the website serves as a reliable source of information and showcase the variety of events happening at the club. The Homepage’s Quick Links direct users to key information and highlight the club’s hospitality packages. The bright, lively photography throughout the website entices punters to visit the club. The brand’s purple and gold colour palette aligns with the club’s logo to ensure its image and messaging is consistent and recognisable.

The Outcome:

The new, vibrant website for the Geraldton Turf Club is a celebration of its long history and prominence within Western Australia’s horse racing industry. With a modernised site, the club has increased its efficiency in communicating its brand and unique service offering to its audience. We are grateful for the opportunity to have worked with such an established regional business and helping them to achieve their objectives.
