The Shire of Derby / West Kimberley is known for its stunning landscapes and rich culture that has inspired local artists for thousands of years. The Shire has facilitated the Kimberley Art Prize since 1970, bringing international attention to hundreds of talented local artists and photographers during its time.

The Brief

The Shire of Derby / West Kimberley was seeking a website presence that could bring the Kimberley Art and Photographic Prize online and help open the prizes to an entirely new digital audience. The objective was to create an platform that could act as a hub of inspiration, showcasing the incredible talent that grace the prestigious competition whilst fostering a community of passionate artists and photographers.

The Website Design

The websites design much like the awards themselves, aims to provide a creative and artistic landing page for those interested in learning more about the competition. The website design incorporates an eye-catching blend of the oranges and reds from the Shire of Derby / West Kimberley colour palette, and brings to life a visually appealing layout that keeps a simple user experience at the front of mind.  

Modules and Features

The KAPP multisite makes use of a dynamic catalogue display, giving users the ability to scroll through previous featured submissions and past winners. This catalogue allows users the ability to filter by year, type of media, and more. Artists will have the ability to submit entries directly via the website, as well as explore upcoming event information and latest news. The footer is embedded with an e-news sign up field, making it easy to keep up with the latest KAPP updates.
