About the client

Located 742 kilometres north-east of Perth, the Shire of Murchison consists of pastoral leases, an Aboriginal and a Local Government reserve, areas of vacant crown land and various other reserves with most properties being managed by family units and the main income is from cattle and meat sheep. Their Ancient Land Under Brilliant Skies crest epitomises the rich country and beautiful skies that showcase the uniqueness of the local countryside.

The Brief

Market Creations Agency worked closely with the Shire of Murchison to showcase their new style guide and logo, which are inspired by the striking colour palette of the Murchison landscape. Only 112 people live in the shire, spread out over 49,500km² so ensuring everything was easy to navigate and available online was a priority.

Tourism and Trails

The other focus was to increase tourism to the Western Australian outback and introduce the unique landscape as an attractive tourist location. We recommended the Trails module to showcase activities and attractions visitors can participate in, and a dedicated feature on the home feed for places of interest to visit.

The Outcome

An easy to navigate and strategically designed sitemap allows the local residents to easily find everything they need online without driving many kilometres to the town centre.

With a visual design inspired by the natural landscape, the final outcome drives more traffic to their website and helps increase the way residents receive their information and increases how tourists learn about the places of interest.
