About the client

Port Hedland is a dynamic town in Western Australia’s beautiful North West located approximately 1,800km north of Perth. The Town is home to around 16,000 people from diverse cultural backgrounds and covers 11,844 square kilometres of the Pilbara region.

The Brief

The Town of Port Hedland’s website was developed initially in 2014 as a multisite using Spark CMS, and inclusive of an Intranet. The Town of Port Hedland website underwent a design refresh in 2017 and the intranet in 2018.

Improved User Experience

The main focus of these projects was to completely refresh the design of the website and intranet, creating sites with intuitive navigation for the end user. The website also undertook a menu and site map restructure, complemented with the introduction of the mega menu, quick links, and Google Analytics review. The new website design and landing page have successfully delivered information to the end user with great efficiency.

Leisure Centre Website

Market Creations Agency was also engaged to re-design the Town’s Leisure Centre website to complement their existing website and intranet. Our team of designers put together a wireframe to map out the layout of the homepage and later implemented the newly created style guide provided by the Town.

The Outcome

Improving user engagement was a top priority for the Town of Port Hedland. By implementing modules such as Facebook integration and the E-Newsletter MailChimp module, the Town encouraged regular communication with their residents and ratepayers and enhanced their overall user experience.

After these successful website development projects, the Town of Port Hedland since engaged Market Creations Agency to develop the Matt Dann Theatre & Cinema website.
